The PATMOS Workshop Series

PATMOS history

Why PATMOS is extremely important

Power consumption is the most important issue in computing and all other ICT infrastructures. Already in 2007 their carbon footprint has been higher than that of the worldwide air traffic. The rapidly growing number and sizes of data centers for running the internet and other server-based infrastructures (click here) leads to a much more dramatic increase of energy wasting. Without a paradigm shift unaffordable electricity bills could lead to a collapse during the next decade. All aspects of highest performance from lowest power are theme of the PATMOS series (Power And Timing Modeling and OptimiSation) - the world-wide oldest workshop series on computer power efficieny.
